1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SellYourLaptop.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use our Service. By using SellYourLaptop.com, you represent that you meet these requirements and have the legal right to sell the device(s) you submit.

3. Device Ownership

By submitting a device for sale, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the legal owner of the device or authorized to sell it
  • The device is not stolen, lost, or subject to any liens or encumbrances
  • The device is not locked by any activation lock (iCloud, Google, etc.) unless disclosed
  • You have removed all personal data and accounts from the device
  • The device is not part of any active lease, financing, or installment plan

4. Quote and Pricing

Quotes provided are estimates based on the information you provide. Final payment is determined after physical inspection of the device. We reserve the right to adjust the offer if:

  • The device condition differs from what was described
  • The device has undisclosed damage or defects
  • The device has an activation lock or is reported stolen
  • The device specifications differ from what was stated

If we adjust your offer, you may accept the revised amount or request your device be returned at no cost.

5. Shipping

We provide free prepaid shipping labels for accepted quotes. You are responsible for properly packaging your device to prevent damage during transit. We recommend using the original packaging or equivalent protection. We are not responsible for damage that occurs during shipping due to inadequate packaging.

6. Payment

Payment is issued after device inspection and acceptance. We offer payment via PayPal, Venmo, company check, or direct bank deposit. Processing times vary by payment method:

  • PayPal/Venmo: Same business day
  • Direct Deposit: 1-3 business days
  • Check: 5-7 business days (mailing time)

7. Data Deletion

While we perform certified data wiping on all devices, you are strongly encouraged to back up and remove all personal data before shipping. We are not responsible for any data loss. Our data destruction process meets DoD 5220.22-M standards.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your transaction at any time before we receive your device. Once we receive and process your device, cancellation requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Return shipping fees may apply for cancelled transactions after device receipt.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SellYourLaptop.com shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SellYourLaptop.com and its employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
